Infosys Announces Q1 2023 Results: Key Highlights and Analysis

Strong Revenue Growth and Profitability

Infosys, a leading global IT company headquartered in Bengaluru, India, has released its financial results for the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2024, ended June 30, 2023. The company reported a robust performance with significant growth in revenue and profitability.

Revenue Performance

Infosys' consolidated revenue from operations for Q1 FY24 stood at Rs. 37,933 crores, registering a notable increase of 13% sequentially compared to Rs. 37,441 crores in the previous quarter. This is also a significant increase of 10% compared to Rs. 34,470 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q1 FY23).

Profitability Metrics

The company's net profit or Profit After Tax (PAT) also witnessed a healthy rise of 11% year-on-year to Rs. 5,945 crores in Q1 FY24, compared to Rs. 5,356 crores in Q1 FY23. This profit growth was slightly below analysts' expectations of Rs. 6,150 crores, as predicted by ET Now.

Sectoral Performance

Infosys reported strong growth across all its major business segments. The Financial Services segment led the revenue growth with a 16% year-on-year increase, followed by Retail & CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) and Life Sciences & Healthcare, which grew by 13% and 16% respectively.
